• Firearm found in student's car at Hopewell High School (wric.com) — A firearm was discovered in a student’s car at Hopewell High School after administrators received a tip Monday morning, but officials say the weapon never entered the building. School staff and security quickly isolated the student, searched the vehicle, and involved Hopewell Police, who took possession of the firearm as the district thanked the person who reported the concern.
   

• Ocean Craft Marine builds 31' rescue RIB for Hopewell (workboat.com) — Hopewell Fire & EMS and the Hopewell Police Department are getting a new 31-foot rescue and patrol boat built to handle firefighting, search and rescue, and law enforcement missions on the James River. The vessel will also support the Port of Virginia’s Maritime Incident Response Team, giving Hopewell crews more power, maneuverability, and specialized gear for emergencies on busy local waterways.
