Casino & Hotel Virginia has topped out its 12-story hotel tower and is on track for a late 2027 opening off I-95 at Wagner Road. The interim casino has already passed $100 million in revenue, with projections of 1,600 permanent jobs and $240 million in tax revenue for the city over the first decade.
   

• 29-year-old man charged with second-degree murder after male victim shot, killed in Petersburg (wric.com) — A man has died after being shot Saturday on Pin Oaks Drive in Petersburg, and 29-year-old Dionte Howard is now jailed without bond on second-degree murder and related gun charges. Police say they’re focused on tackling gun violence and its impact on Petersburg families and neighborhoods, but have not yet released further details about the incident.
