Shots Fired At Cars, Homes In 3 Separate Incidents Around PWC, No Suspect Identified

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA – Between Thursday and Sunday, shots were fired by an unknown person or persons in three separate incidents around the county, striking homes and cars but causing no injuries or other property damage. Police say they have no information on a suspect or suspects yet.

Prince William County police say they responded to three separate reports of shots being fired over the weekend, with no suspect or purpose yet known.

On Friday, officers responded to the 8700 block of McGrath Road in Manassas. They say the day before, on Thursday, multiple gunshots were heard in the afternoon at about 1:40 p.m. A residence was struck, and multiple shell casings were found in the area, though no injuries or other property damage were reported.

Then, at 3:07 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to the 10400 block of Butterfield Street in Manassas, where they say a 27-year-old man was backing into a parking space when he heard multiple gunshots. He left the area and later found that his vehicle had been struck. Officers say bullets also struck another unoccupied vehicle in the lot.

Finally, at 9:50 p.m. on Sunday, officers responded to the 13300 block of Old Church Road in Nokesville to investigate a report of shots fired. They say that a 47-year-old man was driving home with his wife and nine-year-old child when their vehicle was struck by gunfire. Again, no injuries or other property damage were reported, and police say they have no information about a suspect.

The areas are all within about 12 miles of each other across the county.
