• West Springfield community equips school crosswalk with new safety tools (ffxnow.com) — Oakton High School is one of ten Fairfax County high schools where crossing guards were briefly cut, then temporarily reinstated after traffic chaos and a student was hit near South Lakes. In response, West Springfield parents launched a low-cost orange flag program to help students cross Rolling Road more safely, while officials now debate restoring long-term funding and accelerating new traffic signals.
