Reward Offered For Information Leading To Arrest In Groveton Shooting: Police

GROVETON, VA – Fairfax County police are offering a reward for information about a shooting in Groveton earlier in September that left a man with serious injuries.

The Fairfax County Police Department on Tuesday announced a $10,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of the suspect in a non-fatal shooting on Robert E. Lee Place in Groveton on Sept. 12.

Police say officers responded to the 3500 block of Robert E. Lee Place just before 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 12. They found an adult man inside a vehicle suffering from multiple life-threatening gunshot wounds. The man was taken to a hospital and has survived.

Detectives from the department’s Major Crimes Bureau believe the victim was driving through a parking lot when someone on foot fired multiple rounds into the vehicle. They believe the suspect left the area in a vehicle, while the victim’s vehicle remained in motion, hitting two other parked cars.

The reward is offered by Crime Solvers of Fairfax County, which is contributing up to $5,000, with an additional $5,000 provided by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).
