Operation Foster is seeking a local household willing to keep the bonded pair together, noting they're gentle, low-key companions who do well with other pets after slow introductions. Reston residents can apply online to support both the cats and their owner's service.

Halley Rise Proposal Would Shift Office, Housing, Parks Near Reston Metro (patch.com) — Developers are proposing major changes to the Halley Rise project by the Reston Town Center Metro, shifting where offices, housing, and parks will be built while keeping the overall size the same. The project aligns with Fairfax County's Reston planning efforts and reserves land for the long-discussed Soapstone Connector, signaling a shift of the office park toward a more residential neighborhood.
   

4. Renovations begin this fall at seven Fairfax County playgrounds (ffxnow.com) — Reston families can now enjoy an upgraded, more accessible Reston North playground on Stevenage Road, where renovations finished this summer with new, safer equipment. The county is also launching fresh playground projects elsewhere this fall and asking voters to approve new park bonds, which could fund future improvements to facilities across Fairfax County.
   

5. The Most Anticipated Restaurant Openings Around D.C. This Fall 2026 (eater.com) — Reston diners can look forward to Ebbitt House opening at Reston Station this October, bringing Old Ebbitt Grill's famous raw bar, martinis, and American classics to a large dining room and patio. Led by veterans of the former Clyde's of Reston, the new spot is among several high-profile D.C.-area restaurant debuts, but stands out as a major new neighborhood gathering place.
