2. Roanoke Police investigating deadly shooting (wset.com) — Roanoke Police are investigating a deadly shooting on Windsor Road SW after an argument between two drivers turned into a roadside fight Thursday evening. One person died at the scene, another was detained, and a firearm was recovered. Detectives will take the case to a future Roanoke City Grand Jury, and anyone with information is urged to contact police.

Four VSP troopers honored for valor in Roanoke, Pittsylvania County (wdbj7.com) — State police troopers were recently honored in Roanoke for extraordinary bravery, including a December barricade incident handled in a city neighborhood and a separate Pittsylvania County shootout. The awards, presented at Hotel Roanoke, spotlight how these officers' split-second decisions protected fellow troopers and nearby residents from serious harm.
   

4. Lakers' JJ Redick Opens Up On His Basketball Journey: 'Beyond My Wildest Dreams' (fadeawayworld.net) — JJ Redick returned to Roanoke County to speak with more than 500 local kids at the Summit Sportsplex, sharing how his Cave Spring roots led to Duke, the NBA, and now coaching the Lakers.
