VIENNA, VA — Greenheart Juice Shop, a business with four locations specializing in cold-pressed juices and other healthy offerings, will shut down its locations and all operations at the end of November.

The business made the announcement in an email to customers. The closure on Nov. 30 will apply to all operations, including its locations in Vienna, Leesburg, Aldie and DC's Union Market.

The business cited "staggering cost increases and unrecoverable supply chain issues" along with other economic impacts as a reason for the closure.

"This has not been an easy decision and one we regret to have to make," read the message to customers. "Without you and our hard-working team, none of this would have been possible. We are grateful for the nine years you all welcomed us with open arms into your communities and your homes."

Founder Alicia Swanstrom first launched Greenheart Juice Shop in the DC region in 2013. The brand is named in honor of her late partner Doug Green, who was deployed to Afghanistan for his last tour in 2011 and was killed in action. Greenheart Juice Shop references the matching green heart tattoos the couple had.

After starting sales at a farmers market, the business grew, leading Greenheart to launch home delivery and participation in more farmers markets. The success of the brand led to four locations being opened to sell cold-pressed juices, cashew milks, granola, smoothies, avocado toasts and waffles.

The business encouraged customers to support the stores and sales at farmers markets in the remaining days of business.
