PWC Firefighters Responding To Downed Tree End Up Rescuing These Babies (PHOTOS)

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA – Prince William County firefighters responding to reports of a downed tree found more than irate drivers: they found a litter of baby squirrels whose home had just collapsed.

According to a social media post by Prince William Professional Firefighters, three baby squirrels were taken to the firehouse while arrangements were made for their care. The critters earned nicknames on the way: Twitch, Sparky and Mando. The firefighters say the squirrels were handed over to a local wildlife rescue organization that will get them the support they need.

“Sometimes, the best calls end with a few extra heartbeats,” the crew says.
