Teacher Accused Of Being Drunk At Prince William County School: Police
A Manassas Park High School teacher was arrested after staff reported she appeared intoxicated on school grounds, police said.
MANASSAS PARK, VA — A teacher was arrested Thursday morning after police said she was "highly intoxicated" at Manassas Park High School.
Shannon Sanders, 40, of Clifton, was arrested and charged with being drunk in public, according to the Manassas Park Police Department.
Around 7:30 a.m., high school staff notified the school resource officer that a teacher appeared to be intoxicated on school grounds. The officer contacted Sanders and determined she was highly intoxicated, police said.

Sanders was taken to the Prince William County Adult Detention Center, where police said she was held until sober.
No students were involved or placed in danger during the incident, according to police.

Police said questions regarding Sanders' employment or other school-related administrative matters should be directed to Manassas Park City Schools. The investigation remains active.
