Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit Commander Captain Jack Kennedy told local media Saturday night that the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office, Coaling Police and Vance Police were called to the initial scene in the 11000 Block of Hen Smith Road in Vance.

Kennedy said a male and a female have been transported with serious injuries.

He also said a suspect was in custody and said the shooting possibly stemmed from a family or household altercation.
