Tuscaloosa City Schools To Host Educator Hiring Event Thursday

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Tuscaloosa City Schools (TCS) will host a hiring event Thursday aimed at recruiting educators for the upcoming school year.

The event, dubbed “Educator Connect Day,” is scheduled from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the district’s Central Office, located at 1210 Almon Ave.

District officials said the event is geared toward certified teachers, current educators and individuals pursuing a career in teaching.

Hiring is underway for the 2026-27 school year, with openings expected across most schools, including in special education.

Principals from nearly every school in the district are expected to attend and will conduct on-site interviews.

Candidates may schedule interview times in advance, with interviews organized in a structured rotation format.

The event will begin with a networking session from 4 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., followed by interviews from 4:40 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Attendees will also have an opportunity to meet district leadership, including school board members and the superintendent.

TCS officials said the district offers a compensation package above the state salary matrix, along with professional development and career advancement opportunities.
