• Pleasanton Breaks Ground On $103M Amador Valley High School Overhaul (patch.com) — Pleasanton is moving ahead with a $102.8 million overhaul of Amador Valley High School, adding a new performing arts theater and competition gym while upgrading existing athletic facilities. Funded largely by Measure I, the project replaces the historic 1932 theater site and is slated for completion in late 2028, promising modern spaces for local students to perform, compete, and gather.
   

• Pleasanton council rejects multi-story residential project downtown (pleasantonweekly.com) — Pleasanton's City Council has unanimously rejected a family's plan to turn a downtown Old Bernal Avenue office building into a three-story, four-unit home, citing conflicts with the General Plan and downtown design standards. Councilmembers urged the applicant to return with a revised proposal while warning that the site's proximity to the ACE station could invite higher-density, state-favored housing if plans aren't carefully reworked.
   

• 'That silence is the problem': Local veterans continue fight to keep Livermore VA health campus open (danvillesanramon.com) — Tri-Valley veterans are pressing federal officials for clarity as the VA continues long-term plans to close its Livermore medical campus and shift services to a new outpatient clinic in or around Pleasanton. While the VA says full closure is many years away and clinical operations will continue until the Pleasanton-area facility opens, local VFW leaders worry about service cuts, travel burdens, and the future use of the Livermore site for veterans.
