Group Of High School Students Pitch "Sport Stack" Project To Pleasanton Parks And Recreation Commission City of Pleasanton (opgov.news) — High schoolers from Pleasanton's Foothill High are asking the city's Parks and Recreation Commission to adopt "Sport Stack," a community box of shared sports equipment in local parks. After a successful test at Creekside Park and expansion to Livermore, commissioners reacted positively and agreed to consider installing anchored, safety‑minded boxes that students would maintain and grow through school clubs.

2. Pleasanton Breaks Ground On $103M Amador Valley High School Overhaul (patch.com) — Pleasanton is launching a $102.8 million overhaul of Amador Valley High School, adding a new performing arts theater, competition gym and upgraded athletic facilities funded largely by Measure I. Construction follows demolition of the historic 1932 theater and will continue through the second half of 2028, with district leaders emphasizing improved spaces for student performances, athletics and community gatherings.

Why Small Robots Are Roaming Pleasanton's Sidewalks This Fall City of Pleasanton (opgov.news) — Small Daxbot robots will be roaming Pleasanton sidewalks this fall, scanning about 360 miles of walkways, curb ramps and transit stops to pinpoint accessibility barriers for people using wheelchairs, walkers or strollers. Their data will feed into an updated ADA transition plan due in March 2027, helping the city prioritize and budget sidewalk and facility repairs without collecting residents' personal information.

4. Pleasanton school board set to renew agreement with financial auditor (pleasantonweekly.com) — Pleasanton Unified's board meets tonight to decide whether to keep its current financial auditor and to approve a new three-year auditing contract covering Measure I bonds and preschool programs. Trustees will also consider a $70,650 assessment deal with Amplify Education, hear Superintendent Maurice Ghysels' 2026-27 goals, and then discuss his expiring contract in closed session.

5. Explore Pleasanton's 'haunted history' on Ghost Walk tours (pleasantonweekly.com) — Downtown Pleasanton's popular Ghost Walk is back this October, with costumed "spirits" sharing local haunted history on guided evening tours from the Museum on Main. Small groups will explore Main Street stops, some inside historic buildings, during two rain‑or‑shine weekends that also help fund the museum's educational programs.
