Blood Drives Planned At 7 SDCCU Locations In San Diego County

SAN DIEGO, CA — Blood drives will be held next week at seven San Diego County Credit Union locations across San Diego County as local blood supplies remain low, organizers said.

San Diego Blood Bank will collect donations from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, at SDCCU locations in Encinitas, Kearny Mesa, Pacific Beach, Rancho Bernardo, San Diego, Santee and Vista.

"Currently, there is an extremely low inventory of blood and it's especially important to donate before the Labor Day holiday, when travel and outdoor activities increase the demand for emergency trauma care," officials said in a news release.

The San Diego County locations are:

• Encinitas: 501 N. El Camino Real
• Kearny Mesa: 5500 Overland Ave., Suite 190
• Pacific Beach: 1664 Garnet Ave.
• Rancho Bernardo: 11965 Bernardo Plaza Drive, Suite 169
• San Diego: SDCCU Operations Center, 6545 Sequence Drive
• Santee: 286 Town Center Parkway
• Vista: 1475 W. Vista Way

An eighth blood drive will be held at SDCCU's Murrieta location in Riverside County.

"Every blood donation plays a vital role in helping local hospitals care for patients in need," SDCCU President and CEO Teresa Campbell said in a statement.

SDCCU has partnered with San Diego Blood Bank for more than 20 years.

Donors will receive one free ticket to SeaWorld San Diego's Howl-O-Scream event while supplies last, according to SDCCU.
