Julian Man With Guillotine In Truck Arrested Near U.S. Supreme Court (patch.com) — San Diego County readers may be surprised to learn that a 35-year-old Julian man was arrested in Washington, D.C., after U.S. Capitol Police discovered a guillotine in the bed of his illegally parked pickup near the Supreme Court. The guillotine was seized and no further details have been released.

Armed Man Fatally Shot By San Diego Police After Hourslong Standoff (patch.com) — San Diego residents are learning more about a deadly police shooting after an hourslong standoff at a Nipoma Street home, where officers responded to a welfare check that became a suspected burglary. Police say a man fired shots inside, then emerged holding a gun before officers opened fire, killing him.
