• Family of comatose man reaches last-minute settlement in Bay Area Taser case (courthousenews.com) — A lawsuit over a 2024 Taser incident in San Leandro Bay, which left Deontae Faison in a coma, has ended in a last-minute settlement just before trial. Faison's family had accused an East Bay Regional Park District officer and the district of excessive force and inadequate training, and some of their claims had been cleared to proceed by a federal judge.
