📰 News we're reading
• Roadwork To Affect 3 Canton Roads Through Late October (patch.com) — Drivers in Canton should expect closures, detours and delays on Hanson, Barbourtown and Triangle roads as daytime roadwork continues through the end of October 2026. Emergency vehicles and school buses can still pass, but other motorists are urged to plan extra time, follow detours and use caution around crews and equipment.

• 25-acre development site on Canton-Avon line listed for $6.29M (hartfordbusiness.com) — A large 25.5-acre site straddling the Canton-Avon line on Route 44 is up for sale at $6.29 million, with most of the land in Canton's East Gateway Design Village District. The property could host a mix of retail, offices, and multifamily housing, but Canton zoning requires at least 15% commercial space and 15% income-restricted units in any residential project.
