• Former Connecticut Funeral Home Director Plans Plea Deal With Up to 7½ Years in Prison in Prepaid Funeral Fund Case (wealthofgeeks.com) — Vernon residents who prepaid for funerals with former director Philip Pietras are among more than 170 alleged victims in a multimillion-dollar theft case now headed toward a plea deal. His Vernon funeral home license has been revoked, and a state compensation fund is expected to begin limited reimbursements in 2027, alongside new rules to better protect prepaid funeral customers.
