1. Man arrested after Red Lobster standoff (daily-tribune.com) — Cartersville police arrested a man after a tense Sept. 24 standoff in the restroom of the Red Lobster on Cherokee Place, calling in the city's SWAT team when he claimed to be armed. Less-lethal rounds and gas were used before he surrendered, and he now faces local obstruction and reckless conduct charges in addition to serious warrants from Euharlee.
   

2. Ex-Cartersville officer accused of stealing money from evidence room (fox5atlanta.com) — A former Cartersville police officer has been arrested after state investigators say she stole cash from the department's evidence room while serving as its custodian. The GBI says 61-year-old Donna Jean Kelley of Cartersville faces forgery, theft, and oath-violation charges and is being held in Bartow County Jail. Anyone with information is urged to contact the GBI's Calhoun office or submit an anonymous tip online.
   

3. Colonels keep rolling, pull away from Woodland in 42-21 victory (bartowsportszone.com) — Cass stayed unbeaten with a 42-21 road win over Woodland, powered by a balanced passing attack from quarterback Noah Rogers and three rushing touchdowns by Kalil Charles. The Colonels now turn their attention to hosting top-ranked Cartersville at Cochran Stadium in a highly anticipated Region 7-5A showdown. Woodland, meanwhile, looks to rebound on the road at Villa Rica.
   

4. Where did the money go? AG sues charity spotlighted by Channel 2 (wsbtv.com) — Georgia's attorney general is suing SDG Impact Fund, a nonprofit tied to an office in Cartersville that investigators say claimed billions in assets while directing very little to charity. The lawsuit alleges donor money funded personal expenses instead, and seeks a court-appointed receiver to track funds, shut down operations, and potentially return money to contributors.
