• Utility work to beautify Erwin, Main parking area (daily-tribune.com) — Cartersville leaders just approved new transformers to remove overhead utility lines and improve lighting and security in the Erwin and Main streets parking area, aiming to beautify and support nearby businesses. The council also greenlit engineering plans for added parking at the new N. Tennessee Street recreation center, which will eventually house the city's gymnastics program and expanded indoor facilities.
   

• Bartow Fire and Emergency Services Respond To Fires Started by Lightining Strikes Sunday (wbhfradio.org) — Lightning from Sunday's storms sparked a structure fire at 244 Griffin Road in Cartersville, damaging an outdoor storage building before firefighters quickly brought it under control. A second lightning-caused blaze heavily damaged a detached garage in Adairsville the same evening, but crews again contained the flames without reported injuries, underscoring the weekend storm's impact on Bartow County neighborhoods.
   

• Four new teams in the GPB Top 10 football rankings with three of them in 4A (gpb.org) — Cartersville's football team remains firmly in the Class 5A Top 10, sharing space with other undefeated programs as GPB updates its statewide rankings. While most shakeups happened in Class 4A, the listing underscores Cartersville's strong 4-0 start and keeps local fans watching how the Hurricanes stack up against Georgia's best this season.
