• Moores Gourmet Market in Cartersville receives a 51% on their recent health inspection (thegeorgiagazette.com) — Moores Gourmet Market on Fite Street in Cartersville recently scored just 51 out of 100 on a Georgia Department of Public Health inspection, with numerous food safety and sanitation violations cited. Issues ranged from improper food temperatures and date marking to dirty equipment, pest-control concerns, and mishandling of toxic substances, many of which required discarding food or immediate corrective action.
   

• A Fright to Remember! (gbj.com) — Cartersville thrill-seekers can brave the Farm of Fears, which sends guests through dark outdoor trails, eerie woods, abandoned structures, and a haunted corn maze during October nights. The roundup also points to other major haunted attractions across Georgia, from cinematic-style haunted houses to quirky backwoods haunts, giving locals plenty of options for a scary night out.
   

• Texas extends offer to four-star wide receiver Madoxx Davis (usatoday.com) — A standout Cartersville high school wide receiver, Madoxx Davis, has picked up a major new scholarship offer from the University of Texas, adding to more than 40 top college suitors. The four-star 2028 recruit is one of Georgia's highest-ranked players, piling up big receiving, defensive, and special teams numbers early this season.
