• Clarkesville Wins City vs. City Blood Drive Challenge (habershamnews.com) — Clarkesville residents came out ahead of Cornelia in the recent City vs. City blood drive, with 23 donors contributing 18 lifesaving units at City Hall. LifeSouth says those donations could help more than 50 people, and organizers are already talking about making the friendly competition an annual tradition that would bring more blood drives to Clarkesville. 
• Frank Lamar Hill (habershamnews.com) — A Clarkesville native, Frank Lamar Hill, who was born there in 1940 and later returned to Georgia after years in Maryland, has died at 86. His family honored his wishes for cremation, with inurnment at Yonah Memorial Gardens beside his wife, and arrangements handled by Whitfield Funeral Homes in Demorest.
