Chas Cannon Named Chairman of House Blue-Ribbon Study Committee on Local Government Taxation, Funding, and Budgeting (house-press.com) — Cornelia residents are represented on a new state House study committee examining how local governments across Georgia tax, fund, and budget services, through Rep. Victor Anderson of Cornelia. Chaired by Rep. Chas Cannon of Moultrie, the bipartisan group will review local funding systems to improve transparency, fairness for taxpayers, and fiscal accountability, with meetings and materials to be posted publicly later this year.
