• ON THE ROAD: Exploring Dewey City, Thomasville's first Black neighborhood, through stories and history (wtxl.com) — Dewey City's rich Black history in Thomasville is being preserved and expanded, with longtime residents sharing stories of a self-sustaining neighborhood built during segregation. Local historian Jack Hadley is planning two new Black history museums by 2027 and a new main museum by 2028, giving Thomasville residents more places to learn and pass on this legacy.
   

• Henry O. Flipper: A Trailblazer at West Point and Beyond (sdvoice.info) — A pioneering West Point graduate, Henry Ossian Flipper was born enslaved in Thomasville before rising to become the first African American to graduate from the academy. His career spanned military engineering, surveying, and federal service, and his legacy was later honored with an upgraded discharge and presidential pardon, offering Thomasville residents a powerful local connection to national history.
