Worcester Playground To Close For Construction
The playground will close for at least 30 days while crews replace its rubber safety surfacing
WORCESTER, MA — A playground in Worcester will close for construction next week.
The Bennet Field Playground at 1258 Main St. will close next week while crews replace its rubber safety surfacing. It is set to close as of Jul. 29 and reopen on or before Aug. 28, weather permitting, the city announced on Thursday.
The work is expected to take about 30 days and is scheduled to be completed before the start of the new school year, the city said.
Bennett Field is a 5.6-acre park behind the state Veterans Memorial Pool in Webster Square. The park includes a playground, pool and softball diamond, according to the city.
The playground has two sections, one designed for children ages 2 to 5 and another for children ages 5 to 12, according to the city.
