Bus Driver Struck, Killed South Jersey Man, Kept Driving: Prosecutor

Christopher L. Younger was driving an NJ Transit bus when he struck an Absecon man and didn't stop, authorities said.

ABSECON, NJ — A Pleasantville NJ Transit bus driver is accused of striking and killing a pedestrian without stopping, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said.

Christopher L. Younger, 41, was indicted on charges of second-degree leaving the scene of a fatal motor vehicle crash on Wednesday, according to a news release.

It was just before 6 p.m. on Nov. 30, 2025 when 63-year-old Thomas V. Kyle, of Absecon, was struck and killed by an NJ Transit bus while trying to cross over Shore Road in Absecon, authorities said.

Younger, the alleged bus driver, failed to stop after the accident, authorities said.

The fatal crash investigation was conducted by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office’s Crash
Investigations Unit and the Absecon Police Department.
