• High School Runners Find Human Remains at New York Park in Year-Long Missing Person Case (internewscast.com) — Human remains found by high school runners in Manhasset's Plandome Pond Park may belong to 79-year-old Shi Hua Xu, who disappeared from her Great Neck home in December 2025. Investigators say her family recognized clothing from the scene, and DNA tests are underway, potentially bringing long-awaited closure to loved ones in Great Neck.

• Tour de Valor: 200+ Mile Bicycle Journey announces confirmed route stops (saratogian.com) — A statewide 200-plus-mile Tour de Valor bike ride will stop at the Manhasset-Lakeville Fire Department Company 4 on Jayson Avenue in Great Neck around 5:40 a.m. on October 24. The ride connects Albany to Rocky Point to raise awareness of mental, physical, and emotional wellness for veterans and their families, inviting locals at each stop to add loved ones' names to banners carried along the route.
