(heraldsun.com) — Fuquay-Varina families are part of a broader Wake County push to improve special-education, after parents and educators picketed outside Fuquay-Varina Elementary over potential budget cuts. District leaders now propose a three- to five-year plan that shifts more instruction into general-education classrooms, redesigns schedules, and increases teacher training. Board members say they must rebuild trust with special-ed staff and parents while tackling low proficiency rates.
