• Dare County GIS expands Drone Erosion Monitoring Map to include additional areas of Hatteras Island (outerbanksvoice.com) — Hatteras Village and the rest of Hatteras Island now have expanded drone-based shoreline monitoring that you can explore online, letting you compare erosion over time in your own community. Dare County GIS has added new imagery for Hatteras Village and southern Avon to its interactive map and will keep updating it, helping residents and officials track coastal changes and plan responses.
   

• Recreational Black Sea Bass season opens May 1 in state waters north of Cape Hatteras with new regulations (outerbanksvoice.com) — If you fish near Hatteras, new Black Sea Bass rules kick in May 1 for state waters north of Cape Hatteras, with different size limits, bag limits, and seasons than federal waters. Regulations also differ south of the cape, so local anglers need to double-check which rules apply before heading out.
