Free admission, 100,000 expected: Virginia Beach hosts the inaugural Super Girl Surf Festival over Labor Day weekend with 21 live concerts and 14 unique sporting events (secretdc.com) — Virginia Beach will host the first-ever local Super Girl Surf Festival over Labor Day weekend, Sept. 5–7, bringing free surfing competitions, 21 concerts, and 14 sports along the oceanfront from 1st Street Jetty to the Fishing Pier. Organizers expect more than 100,000 attendees, with free concert passes required for entry and optional paid VIP upgrades available online.

Virginia Beach golfers seek answers as proposed sale of Virginia Beach National moves toward public hearing (wtkr.com) — Virginia Beach is weighing a proposed sale of Virginia Beach National Golf Course to developer Dragas, which would renovate the course, add housing, and close golf operations for up to 15 months. Golfers and neighbors are raising concerns about bald eagle habitat, course access, and redevelopment impacts ahead of a key City Council public hearing on July 7 at 7 p.m.
   

3. Notice is hereby given that MK... (pilotonline.com) — A Virginia Beach–based company, MKC Transportation, is seeking state approval to operate passenger service across several Hampton Roads cities, including Virginia Beach, and to transport Medicaid recipients statewide. Residents who might be affected can file written protests with DMV Motor Carrier Services by July 22, 2026, if they want to formally oppose the application.
   

4. JD Vance to visit Naval Air Station Oceana in Virginia Beach on Wednesday (sanluisobispo.com) — Vice President JD Vance is scheduled to speak Wednesday at Naval Air Station Oceana in Virginia Beach, highlighting the Trump administration’s support for service members and veterans during the nation’s 250th military anniversary. Oceana will also stage aircraft for July 3–4 flyovers in New York and Washington, putting Virginia Beach at the center of the national celebrations.
