Wake County ABC officials cited an escalation of violence and public safety concerns, though the club could technically stay open without alcohol sales. All shooting victims are expected to recover.

Lucky ticket from Food Lion in Raleigh wins $1.1 million Cash 5 jackpot, NC lottery says (cbs17.com) — A Cash 5 ticket bought at the Food Lion on Strickland Road in Raleigh just hit a $1.14 million jackpot, according to state lottery officials. The winner, who hasn't yet come forward, matched all five numbers in Friday's drawing and has 180 days to claim the prize. The Cash 5 jackpot has now reset to $100,000.

Beloved Triangle basketball coach remembered as mentor, fierce leader (wral.com) — Friends, former players, and colleagues gathered in Durham to honor longtime Triangle basketball coach and teacher Sheremy Dillard, who is remembered as a powerful mentor and leader. Dillard was recently killed in her Raleigh home, and the suspect has now appeared before a Raleigh judge and is being held without bond in Wake County.

5. 4-year-old boy disappears from Sampson County home (cbs17.com) — A Raleigh-based report revisits the 2000 disappearance of four-year-old Tristen "Buddy" Myers from his great-aunt and uncle's home in Roseboro, Sampson County.
