With prices ranging from about $835,000 to $4.65 million and amenities like a pool, co-working space, and 24-hour lobby staff, the project could signal more condo construction and shape who can afford to live downtown.

Celebrating Art, Music, and History: Raleigh's 17th African American Cultural Festival (caro.news) — Raleigh residents just saw Fayetteville Street come alive as 40,000 people celebrated the 17th African American Cultural Festival of Raleigh & Wake County, a major city-funded Labor Day weekend draw. From children's author readings at the City of Raleigh Museum to concerts, comedy, and a bustling African Marketplace of Black-owned businesses, the event showcased local culture, history, and entrepreneurship rooted in Raleigh's Black community.
   

3. Angry Raleigh car repair customer fires shots in shop; arrested with 2 guns and wearing bulletproof vest: Police (cbs17.com) — Police say a disgruntled customer fired shots inside a car repair shop just south of downtown Raleigh on Saturday afternoon after arguing over his bill, but no one was hurt. Officers quickly stopped his car, arrested him wearing a bulletproof vest, and recovered two guns; charges are pending as investigators continue their work.
   

4. Grito de Independencia - presented by Consulate General of Mexico in Raleigh Sept. 15 - Triangle on the Cheap (triangleonthecheap.com) — Raleigh residents are invited to a free Grito de Independencia celebration on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2026, 7 p.m., at the Mexican Consulate on Raleigh View Road. The evening will honor Mexico's history and Afro‑Mexican communities and is part of broader Hispanic Heritage Month activities happening around the Triangle.
   

5. Raleigh man recalls saving woman in wheelchair during World Trade Center terrorist attacks (cbs17.com) — A Raleigh-area native who once worked on the 81st floor of the World Trade Center recalls helping evacuate a woman in a wheelchair just minutes before the North Tower collapsed. Now back in North Carolina, he's been active in Raleigh civic life, including a City Council run and leading a public safety advocacy group, and urges neighbors to value relationships and help others.
