• NC hemp industry rallies against bill it calls a ban in disguise (nclawyersweekly.com) — A proposed North Carolina hemp bill could immediately shut down a Roxboro-based manufacturer that produces beverages for a growing Summerfield hemp company, according to its co-founder. The legislation would sharply cap THC levels in hemp products, which industry advocates say would wipe out most of their offerings while law enforcement groups argue it’s needed for public safety. Local jobs in Roxboro’s hemp manufacturing chain could be at risk if the measure passes unchanged.
