John Rex Polytechnic High School to open in downtown OKC in fall 2027 (okcfox.com) — Families in and around downtown Oklahoma City can look forward to John Rex Polytechnic High School opening in fall 2027, starting with ninth grade and adding a class each year. The public charter school will sit on N. Hudson Avenue and emphasize real-world, polytechnic learning in fields like engineering, cybersecurity, biomedical sciences, entrepreneurship, and advanced academics, backed by city leaders.
   

2. Asian night market returns to OKC with food, activities, and celebrity guest (koco.com) — Oklahoma City residents can head to the Asian District this Friday and Saturday for the returning Asian night market, filling Classen Boulevard with more than 100 food trucks, vendors, and performances. Organizers expect even bigger crowds after national recognition, and say the event boosts small businesses while adding a new after-party featuring celebrity guest Kim Lee.
   

3. Homeowner catches fleeing driver after vehicle crashes into southwest Oklahoma City home (kfor.com) — A southwest Oklahoma City family is recovering after an SUV crashed through their bedroom overnight, injuring the parents but sparing their young daughter. Despite his injuries, the homeowner chased down and detained the fleeing driver until police arrived, while repairs to the heavily damaged home are already underway.
   

4. 23-year-old entrepreneur hauls his way to franchise owner (journalrecord.com) — A 23-year-old entrepreneur has taken over the College H.U.N.K.S. Hauling Junk and Moving franchise serving Oklahoma City, stepping into ownership on Sept. 1 after relocating here to help grow the business. He used owner financing after being unable to secure an SBA loan and now works long hours building the metro moving operation, crediting mentorship and networking for his rapid path into local business ownership.
   

5. Wings member gives back after a childhood of receiving care (newson6.com) — An Oklahoma City woman who once depended on intensive medical care is now giving back through Wings, a local program helping adults with special needs build independence and purpose. From assembling hygiene kits for incarcerated people to taking life-skills classes on a 75-acre OKC campus, members find community and meaningful work, and locals are encouraged to volunteer or donate.
