The county-backed project, spanning DeKalb to Ford streets, would roll out in three phases and depends heavily on state and federal grants, but no construction timeline is set yet.

Norristown Area School District eyes expanded before, after school programs (pottsmerc.com subscription) — Families in the Norristown Area School District could soon see expanded before- and after-school programs starting as early as next month, funded with $300,000 in the new budget. Officials are designing October–March sessions focused on academics, enrichment, and social-emotional support, especially for key transition grades, and will survey parents and students to shape schedules, transportation options, and offerings.

Montgomery County municipalities receive $1.2 million in grants post Ida (northpennnow.com) — Norristown is set to receive $300,000 in state disaster recovery funds to help about five or six homeowners repair and mitigate damage still lingering from Hurricane Ida. Paired with a larger grant to Abington, the money supports housing rehab and infrastructure upgrades as part of a broader $18.6 million package targeting storm-hit communities in Montgomery and neighboring counties.
