SEPTA To Add Trains For Philadelphia Eagles Home Opener (patch.com) — SEPTA is boosting Broad Street Line service in Philadelphia this Sunday to help fans get to the Eagles' home opener against Washington at Lincoln Financial Field. Extra Sports Express trains will run from Fern Rock to NRG Station, with easy connections from Center City buses, trolleys, the Market-Frankford Line, Regional Rail, and PATCO for South Jersey riders.

For The 2nd Time, Eagles All Time Great Brandon Graham Announces Retirement (patch.com) — Philadelphia fans are saying another goodbye to beloved Eagles defensive standout Brandon Graham, who has again announced his retirement just before the 2026–27 season. Speaking at Jefferson Health's Breakfast with the Birds in Philadelphia, the two-time Super Bowl champion reflected on his career and promised to stay involved with the team and community.

The Philadelphia Orchestra to Open 2026–27 Season with Beethoven and Hisaishi (broadwayworld.com) — Philadelphia music lovers can mark Sept. 24 for the Philadelphia Orchestra's season-opening concert at Marian Anderson Hall, featuring Beethoven's Ninth Symphony and the U.S. premiere of Joe Hisaishi's Orbis. With hometown soloists, the Philadelphia Symphonic Choir, and a gala benefitting the Musicians' Retirement Fund, the evening highlights the orchestra's legacy and invites residents to be part of its next chapter.

Beloved psychologist for veterans dies suddenly at 58 (chestnuthilllocal.com) — Philadelphia-area veterans and neighbors are mourning psychologist Peter Yeomans, a Germantown resident who led the PTSD clinical team at the Philadelphia VA Medical Center and died suddenly at 58. He was known for pioneering work on "moral injury," deep compassion for patients, and an adventurous spirit that inspired friends and family in Northwest Philly and beyond.

5. Outdoor walking event to support Schuylkill Center (chestnuthilllocal.com) — A new Ultratrax endurance walk on Sept. 26 will bring hundreds of participants to the Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education in what will be the company's first Philadelphia-based event. Walkers can choose distances from 7 to 28 miles, with proceeds supporting the center's environmental education, wildlife rehabilitation, and facility upgrades. Shuttles, food trucks, and a DJ will round out the day-long fundraiser.
