• Coventry Planning Commission Backs Data Center Ban (upriseri.com) — Coventry's Planning Commission is signaling support for an outright ban on data centers in the town's zoning code, citing concerns over water use, energy demand, pollution, and noise. While no vote has been taken yet, officials expect draft zoning changes to reach the Town Council in early 2027, giving residents time to follow and weigh in on the proposal.
   

• Rhode Islanders deal with power outages as slow-moving storm passes through region (coastalabc.com) — A slow-moving nor'easter is still causing scattered power outages across Rhode Island, and Coventry residents may see lights flicker as winds and rain continue. Utility crews are working statewide, with more than 31,000 customers affected at some point, while some Coventry homeowners with generators are offering help to neighbors who lose power.
