• Johnston elementary school ribbon-cutting postponed following busing issues (wpri.com) — Johnston's long-awaited ribbon-cutting for the new consolidated elementary school has been put on hold after a chaotic first week of busing problems across the district. Families reported late or missing buses and issues with Zum's new tracking app, prompting school leaders to prioritize fixing transportation before celebrating. A new date for the ceremony will be announced once service stabilizes. 
• RIDOH and DEM Lift Advisory at Lake Mishnock and Recommend Avoiding Contact with Wenscott Reservoir and Oak Swamp Reservoir (ri.gov) — Johnston residents are being urged to avoid all contact with Oak Swamp Reservoir because of a harmful algae bloom that can make people and pets seriously sick. Swimming, fishing, and boating there, and at Wenscott Reservoir in North Providence, are considered high-risk until further notice. Officials explain what the blooms look like, outline symptoms to watch for, and share steps to take if you or your pets are exposed.
