Pawtucket to review 3 proposals for redevelopment of former Apex site (turnto10.com) — Pawtucket officials are weighing three competing proposals to transform the former Apex site and surrounding 20 acres into a major mixed-use "Downtown Gateway" district. Concepts range from hundreds of apartments with riverfront amenities to a homeownership-focused plan with new commercial spaces, and the Pawtucket Redevelopment Agency will now decide which vision best fits the city's long-term goals.
   

2. Person of interest in custody after Pawtucket stabbing (wpri.com) — Police say a person was stabbed Thursday afternoon on Freight Street in Pawtucket, and the victim was later found in a vehicle on East Street with non-life-threatening injuries. A person of interest is now in custody and being questioned, while detectives continue investigating and had part of the area taped off as a black sedan was towed from the scene.
   

3. From police training to housing help, where $5.4M will be spent (newportri.com) — Two Pawtucket nonprofits are getting fresh support from the Rhode Island Foundation, with Harbor of Hope Foundation receiving $30,000 for free CNA training and Blackstone Valley Community Healthcare gaining capacity-building funds. These grants are part of a $5.4 million statewide package aimed at health care, housing, and job training, potentially expanding local services and career pathways for Pawtucket residents.
   

4. Brown scientists help preserve a piece of World Cup history for Cape Verdean Museum (brown.edu) — Pawtucket's Cape Verdean Museum has secured a unique World Cup keepsake: turf from the Miami spot where Cape Verde scored a historic equalizer against Argentina, now preserved with help from Brown University scientists. The carefully treated grass and mounted specimens are already drawing enthusiastic visitors, adding a fresh sports centerpiece to the museum's local cultural storytelling.
   

5. Boston Legacy FC to play 2027 home games in Rhode Island before move to White Stadium (wcvb.com) — Pawtucket's Centreville Bank Stadium will host Boston Legacy FC's entire 2027 home schedule, keeping professional soccer matches – and visiting fans – in the city for another season. While Boston's White Stadium undergoes renovations, the club plans to build on strong 2026 support at the 10,500-seat Pawtucket venue before moving back to Boston in 2028.
