• Weekend storms cause heavy wind damage in Easley (wyff4.com) — Easley residents spent Labor Day cleaning up after powerful Sunday storms toppled trees, damaged several homes, and knocked down power lines across town. The Easley Fire Department handled more than 40 storm-related calls and reported at least three structures hit by falling trees, but fortunately no injuries were reported as neighbors and crews worked through the debris.
   

• Greer QB Xavier Sammett with 5 TDs up for Ingles Boys Athlete of Week (greenvilleonline.com) — An Easley High standout, quarterback Whitley Rodgers, is up for Upstate Ingles Boys Athlete of the Week after throwing for 354 yards and four touchdowns in a one-point win over Riverside. Local fans can vote through Sept. 10, with Easley also mentioned as Riverside receiver Peyton Stevenson's opponent in his big performance.
   

• Christie Robbins Ballew Obituary Sep 5, 2026 (robinsonfuneralhomes.com) — Family and friends are invited to a graveside service for Christie Robbins Ballew at Robinson Memorial Gardens on Powdersville Road in Easley at noon on Saturday, Sept. 26. The longtime Greenville and Powdersville resident, remembered for her warm personality and community ties, will be laid to rest beside her late husband as loved ones gather to share memories.
