The money, reimbursed at a minimum 75% federal cost share, supports local cleanup while other counties repair bridges, utilities, parks, and protective infrastructure damaged by Helene and Tropical Storm Debby.

He describes the emotional toll on officers, the support pouring into the Greenwood Police Department, and plans for a permanent monument. Mayor Brandon Smith will also proclaim July 9 as Officer DJ Keller Day.

โข District: Two Upstate school buses drained of gasoline in series of statewide thefts (foxcarolina.com) โ Greenwood County is among several Upstate areas where thieves have reportedly drained gasoline from school buses, prompting a statewide investigation by the South Carolina Department of Education. Laurens County officials discovered drilled gas tanks on two activity buses, and law enforcement agencies are now using surveillance and other tools to track down whoever is targeting school transportation fleets.
