• What to know about Mauldin's proposed 1% sales tax (wspa.com) — Mauldin officials are explaining a proposed 1% local sales tax that could raise about $19.6 million over up to eight years for road and infrastructure work, starting in 2027 if voters approve it. Essentials like groceries, gas, and prescriptions would stay tax‑exempt, but if both city and county referendums pass, Mauldin shoppers would see an extra 2% in local sales taxes on eligible purchases.
