• Tropical Grille responds to U.S. Department of Labor findings from investigation (foxcarolina.com) — Simpsonville's Tropical Grille location is among 13 restaurants where federal investigators found child labor, overtime, and tip-pool violations, leading to $618,888 in back wages and $100,000 in penalties. The company says it has corrected its practices, updated training, and agreed to ongoing compliance measures affecting workers across the Upstate. 
• Gary Eugene Campbell, age 75 (kttn.com) — A 75-year-old man who recently passed away in Simpsonville is being remembered for his deep devotion to family and church in Trenton, Missouri. Friends wishing to honor him can send Compassion International memorial gifts to his wife at a Simpsonville address, with services planned in Missouri on September 6.
