• Security increased at Simpsonville parks after report of suspicious person (foxcarolina.com) — Security has been stepped up at Simpsonville's Heritage Park and other city parks after a report that a woman, accompanied by a large man, allegedly tried to take a child on Thursday. Police couldn't corroborate the report but are urging residents to stay alert and call Simpsonville Police or 911 immediately if they see anything suspicious.
   

• Former Bears QB Shares Frightening Cardiac Arrest Story From Son's Football Game in 2025 (essentiallysports.com) — A Simpsonville Fire Department training officer helped save former NFL quarterback Connor Shaw when he collapsed from sudden cardiac arrest while coaching his son's flag football game near the Simpsonville fire station. Quick CPR, an AED from the adjacent station, and hospital care led to his recovery, inspiring Shaw to launch a foundation that places AEDs in parks and teaches hands‑on CPR statewide.
