4 Players From This VA University Selected In 2026 Major League Baseball Draft

Four pitchers from a Virginia university have been selected in the 2026 Major League Baseball draft.

Four Virginia Tech baseball players, all pitchers, were selected in the Major League Baseball draft this weekend.

Virginia Tech pitcher Brett Renfrow was the highest pick, selected by the Minnesota Twins at number 74 overall. Luke Craytor, another pitcher, was selected in the ninth round by the Chicago White Sox; pitcher Griffin Steig went to the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 13th round at number 378; and pitcher Madden Clement went to the Kansas City Royals in the 15th round at 449th overall.

According to Virginia Tech, Renfrow’s selection was the seventh-highest ever for a pitcher from the school.
