• Amherst man arrested in relation to June shooting that injured woman in Bedford (wset.com) — An Amherst man has been arrested in connection with a June shooting in Bedford that injured a 21-year-old woman, and he now faces a felony reckless handling of a firearm charge. Amherst County deputies, Lynchburg police, Bedford police and U.S. Marshals all assisted with the case, and investigators are still asking anyone with information to come forward.
