• Falls Church advocates want affordable housing project to focus on lowest incomes (arlnow.com) — Falls Church advocates are urging the city to ensure the planned Virginia Village redevelopment includes many units affordable to residents earning just 30% of area median income. Citizens for a Better City wants protections for existing affordable units, more racial and economic diversity, and clear public engagement if tax dollars are used. A city committee is interviewing developers this week before recommending a partner to the City Council.

Their new outlook report details regional impacts, shifting popular varieties, rising grower costs, and ongoing labor challenges, while industry leaders still expect plenty of high-quality apples on shelves this fall.
