The findings refine how board-member trips are described, detail specific conference costs and reimbursement issues, and urge tighter controls on purchase card use, documentation, and travel policies going forward.
   

• Her dog was hit, killed by a car at a training program. Now, she's pushing for accountability. (wtvr.com) — A Fredericksburg-area dog owner is demanding stronger oversight of dog trainers after her rescue dog was hit and killed by a car while enrolled in a local board-and-train program. She says the trainer knew the dog chased cars, yet lost control of the leash, and now wants Virginia to set standards or licensing for professional trainers so other families don't face similar losses.
   

• GPAC Meet @ Fredericksburg Academy 2026 (milesplit.com) — Fredericksburg Academy's cross-country teams dominated a home GPAC meet on October 6, with both the boys and girls squads winning convincingly on their Fredericksburg course. Local runners swept the top three boys' spots and the top six girls' places, outpacing Highland, Wakefield, and Foxcroft and showcasing strong depth heading into the rest of the season.
