• A Baby Boom Brings 51 Newborns To Mary Washington Hospital In One Week (patch.com) — Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg just wrapped up one of its busiest weeks in recent memory, delivering 51 babies, including four sets of twins. Staff say the baby boom highlighted the intensive teamwork across labor, mother-baby, and NICU units that care for families from Fredericksburg and the surrounding region, supported by a partnership with Children's National Hospital.
   

• A Lovingly Restored 157-Year-Old Soda Fountain is Open in Fredericksburg (washingtonian.com) — A beloved piece of Fredericksburg history is back: Goolrick's, the 157-year-old soda fountain on Caroline Street, has reopened after a four-year restoration. Local owners preserved its classic luncheonette feel while adding a future speakeasy-style basement restaurant, keeping the menu nostalgic and the building's historic character front and center for longtime residents and curious newcomers alike.
